Will Arrow Season 3 Return as a Hit?

The struggle is real. After being made aware that The Climb was the last episode of Arrow until next year, devastation gushed in. Curling up with a bowl of popcorn or a bucket of Blue Bunny ice cream is a good ole’ treat during any episode of the Arrow. Finding another mousetrap to captivate me will definitely be a hassle. I’m psyched about declaring the prodigious Arrow, but before delving into all the sweet delights to be dispensed subsequently, I’ll back track to what took place in the most recent episode.

 

 

A One Man Band

 

Unlike Ra’s al Ghul who needs his minions to flock foolishly behind him, Oliver Queen, a.k.a The Vigilante, while with his team, is a one man band. He loves to venture on dangerous quests on his own. The Climb made his self-sacrificing attitude apparent when he foolishly decided to face the demon all on his own.

Why would a sane person go up against Ra’s al Ghul? Simple! When you have a sister like Thea Queen, under the influence of a deranged father, you have to fight as a big brother. That’s what Oliver did. He defended his sister since she was the one to kill Black Canary who was one of Ra’s al Ghul’s minions.

 

Now… fast forwarding. Finally, Oliver climbed a snow-capped mountain, in probably the middle of nowhere to face the ultimate dragon. After grabbing his weaponry (swords) the duel began. It was outlandish to behold Oliver in tights wielding a sword like a mad man. I prefer arrows, but I guess you need firm weapons to go toe-to-toe with al Ghul. After chatting while going at each other, Ra’s al Ghul finally brought Oliver to his knees…. and then it hits me: “No……!!!!! Please don’t kill him”, I exploded. My heart dropped! With a sword pierced through his skin, Ra’s al Ghul withdrew only to push Oliver over the mountain…. and then I died. I have no further comments.

Arrow diehards are revving up for the return of Arrow Season 3 episode 10 on January 21, 2015. With the promo for episode 10, fanatics are presuming that Stephen Amell, Oliver, might return to the Arrow. What do I say? I’m not presuming but I’m positive that he’ll return. Maybe he’ll go missing for awhile, but the Arrow is nothing without Oliver. Give me Oliver or I’m walking. The return of Arrow in January will definitely turn out to be a hit. With Oliver out of the picture for awhile, who’ll assume his place? What about Felicity? Will she think about giving in to her boss’ advances and live a fancy life for all-time sake? What about sir Diggle? Will he walk away and live the life he’s always wanted with his family or will he team up with Roy and form his own team and maybe call it ‘Diggle and company’ ?

Speculations as to how Oliver will Return

 

After wrapping up ‘The Climb’, Oliver is seen hanging from a cliff. A glimpse of a man approaching him was seen. Who’s this savior? Word on the street is, Oliver will be saved by Ra’s al Ghul himself, but I think that’s impossible. What would be his motive for saving him? I can’t think of any. Others are saying that Oliver’s old friend, Maseo Yamashiro a.k.a Sarab will bring his friend to the Lazarus Pit where he’ll be revived. I highly believe that this will be the case. However, someone else might stop by to save Oliver. Many find it impossible that Slade or Deathstroke will step up to save Oliver but, I do believe it’s possible. Why? We all know that Slade hates Oliver’s guts, but hey, the producers are known for doing the unexpected and guess what? Slade saving Oliver would surprise the crap out of viewers.

 

 

 Arrow to undergo Major Transitions

It’s well anticipated that Thea Queen and Felicity Smoak will have some catching up to do. They’re the only girls left in Ollie’s life so they’ll need to support each other. When the season returns, they’ll flood the screen. Roy a.k.a. The Arsenal is expected to rise to the occasion. Most likely, The Arsenal will go head-to-head with gang members and possibly Malcolm Merlyn. Whatever he’s up against, he has my support and best wishes. Laurel Lance will possibly return as Black Canary. I’m not sure if the look fits, but this needs to be done. Team Arrow will need all the help they can get while Oliver is away.

 

 

With all these transitions to take place when Arrow returns, fanatics are in for a well cooked meal. Until the season returns, I’m out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Will Arrow Season 3 Return as a Hit?

Sacrifice and Betrayal in OUAT’s “Smash the Mirror”

Things are wrapping up a bit. The cats are finally coming out of the bag, including Rumplestiltskin’s betrayals and of course his ugly head. We finally saw things come to a pivotal point where life changing decisions were to be made. There was the decision to choose between betrayal and sacrifice. On one hand there was Emma who was willing to sacrifice her magical abilities to save the people she loved. On the other hand, Mr. Gold had to choose between betraying Emma and Ingrid, the Snow Queen. Rumple chose betrayal. Like he said, he’ll always go for the power. While that was the case, take a look at how he failed to get the power he craved in “Smash the Mirror”.

 

 

The Snow Queen another Regina?

 

Regina has always longed for a family to call her own. However, happiness seemed to be elusive…until she met Henry who brought her some level of happiness. Ingrid, the now damsel in distress, is insistent on creating her own family. A family of magical sisters. Her sisters did not agree to what she was and so Elsa’s mother (FYI, Elsa and Ingrid are related by blood) trapped her in an urn (at least that’s what she claimed). As a consequence of the family she never had, the Snow Queen is bent on recreating her two sisters, but with magical abilities. She needs the power of Elsa and Emma to complete her spell and get the happy ever after she’s always wanted. While she did succeed at unleashing a curse using her mirror, she’s no match for Elsa, Emma and ‘the Dark One’.

 

 

Emma Loses Control

 

Emma has always been in control but not this time around. Her powers went haywire in Smash the Mirrors of Once Upon a Time. Without restraint, she was destined to hurt the people she loved. Determined to get rid of a crucial part of her life, Emma went to the diabolical Mr. Gold for help. As conniving as he was, Gold deceived Emma into thinking that he’d actually help her while setting her up for betrayal.

The Crocodile Strikes Back

 

Mr. Gold a.k.a Crocodile has always been at it. For one moment I thought he was working with Ingrid, but then everything changed when he trapped her with remnants of the urn she was previously trapped in. What was Gold up to? What was implied when he said he’d only be betraying Ingrid and Emma? I’m afraid his twisted mind is just too difficult to comprehend or go around. Would stripping Emma of her magic betray her when he disposed of the spell he initially wanted to use? Is that even possible? As it turned out, the Crocodile’s intention was to drain Emma of her power using a magical hat and then trap her in it. Of what gain would that be to him? I’m not sure. However, ‘Smash the Mirror’ revealed that the Crocodile will always be evil. While that’s the case, we did see how honest Mr. Gold was when Emma questioned him. At least we can give him credit for his honesty.

 

 

A Look Back at Elsa in Arendelle

 

While betrayal built camps in Storybrooke, viewers were given a glimpse into what it meant to be Elsa or at least how Ingrid crept her way into present day Storybrooke. We saw how Elsa and Anna put up a strong fight against Ingrid, but failed since they weren’t strong enough to conquer her.

 

Ingrid placed a spell on Anna which only reflected darkness and caused her to see all that was bad. With a spell of that nature, Anna had no option but to see the worst in Elsa. She later trapped her in the urn which went against Ingrid’s plan. Disappointed and frustrated, Ingrid embraced the evil within, took the urn from Anna and froze the entire kingdom, including Anna. This simply means that Elsa is searching for a sister who’s dead.

Mr. Gold Gets a New Puppet

 

After catching up with Emma, Elsa helped her to appreciate that her magic was what made her special and being different wasn’t always a bad thing. She also helped her to appreciate that family is important and they’re needed to help her control her magic. Elsa’s little chat really resonated and so Emma realized that her magic was important and special. After embracing who she was, Emma gained control, putting a huge dent in Mr. Gold’s plan. You go Emma! However, someone had to pay! Since Emma thwarted Gold’s plan, her boyfriend, Hook, paid for it sincerely. Gold decided to take something more precious by ripping out Hook’s heart. Since Mr. Gold had known Hook before he became the ‘Dark One’, he was perfect for whatever plans he had in store. With Hook’s heart, he was in control and could use him to manipulate Emma and obtain the magic he wanted to fuel the magical hat. This episode surely went out with a bang. I’ll definitely be on edge waiting for the upcoming episode. Until then, bon voyage.

Arrow Review: Is Roy ‘Guilty’?

“Roy, where did you go? … Get your head in the game.” Those were the words uttered by the vigilante to his partner in an attempt to pull him back to reality. Roy had been restless. Why? Since his system was previously consumed by the Mirakuru drug, Roy was suffering from the side effects, even though cured of it. Roy was delusional. He was having vivid dreams and flashes of memory portraying him as Black Canary’s killer. How could this be? Even though I previously wrote about Black Canary’s death, I didn’t see this coming. Roy might be Canary’s killer? I am definitely not buying it. If Roy is in fact Canary’s killer, what would the vigilante do considering that Roy is his sidekick? What about Laurel who’s been training her derriere off to avenge her sister? Here’s what Guilty of the Arrow had to say on the matter.

 

 

Oliver met his Precursor

 

Highly motivated to catch the bad guys, Oliver and his gang pursued what they suspected to be drug dealers… and they were right. Before getting to them however, someone else did, but with different intentions. No doubt Oliver would have spared their lives after beating the hell out of them, but not this guy. During the process of beating the nuts out of them, they were killed and then hung high from a ceiling. With how this incident maneuvered, Oliver was led to find a former fellow vigilante. Seemly, this former vigilante had a sidekick who was cut loose due to a mishap in the past. To get the revenge he thought he so deserved, he killed in the name of the vigilante whose undercover name remained unknown. Surprisingly, Oliver found out that Laurel’s trainer, Ted, was a vigilante. In a short grapple with Oliver, Ted revealed that he was washed up and no match for the Arrow.

Sidekicks go Toe-to-Toe

 

After finding out that Ted’s sidekick was behind all the murders, Oliver decided to face him. With much on his hands (saving Laurel from a vehicle set aflame), Roy had to face Ted’s sidekick. Two sidekicks going at each other? This keeps getting better. After both sustained and inflicted many punches, Roy was victorious. After his opponent mentioned that Oliver would abandon him just as Ted did to him, Roy lashed out implying that they were different. That was actually a pretty tense moment since Ted’s sidekick went rogue as a result of his ‘master’ cutting him loose. While Diggle was suggesting that Oliver let Roy go, Ted’s experience with his sidekick proved to be a sure lesson. For all the heroes out there with a sidekick, hold on to them or else they just might come back to haunt you.

 

 

What’s the verdict?

 

After lamenting about how much of a murderer he was, Roy decided that he was going to turn himself over to the authorities for the death of Sara Lance (Black Canary). As a great friend and mentor, Oliver decided that he was going to help Roy get over his problem with a memory technique he learned in Hong Kong during his captivity. To cut a long story short, Roy remembered. This time around he was not Canary’s killer. Roy may have killed before (he did kill a police officer, the same way Canary died), but he was not the one to drive three arrows through Canary. That must have been why Roy thought he was the one to kill Canary since Canary and the officer died a similar death. Mirakuru sure does know how to mess up a man. Then who could Canary’s killer be?

 

 

 

 

A New ‘Cupid’ in Town

 

Amidst all the guilt, love remained in the air. A new villain or hero has been added to the show. I’d definitely say this self-proclaimed Cupid is a villain. Why? If you’re caught shooting arrows at officers, especially while escorting a criminal, you’re definitely bad to the bone. This was the case with Cupid. She actually attacked the officers who were transporting Ted’s sidekick. After inquiring who she was, she uttered, “Cupid, stupid”, and then shot an arrow towards him. I’m skeptical as to whether or not she shot him, but we’ll definitely find out in the upcoming episode.

 

Who is this Cupid? Why is she in town and what is she capable of? Since Oliver wasn’t able to put a face to Sara’s killer, what will he turn to? Will Laurel continue in her quest for revenge? It’s all too much to think about at this point. While we’re not sure as to what will happen in the upcoming episode, I’m sure that it’ll be a hit!

Verizon Rolls out Wi-Fi Calling Next Year

Verizon Communications Inc. recently rolled out their VoLTE, Voice over LTE service, which changed the way their subscribers made video calls over a compatible network. However, Verizon Communications did not stop there. The provider company is now making plans to roll out a new service that does not have much competition on the market. This technology, as aforementioned, will revolutionize the way their subscribers interact with Verizon’s services.

 

 

New Service Next Year

 

Verizon plans to introduce Wi-Fi calling in the middle of next year. While this is the case, CFO, Francis J. Shammo of Verizon Communications Inc. highlighted that the roll out is not a priority or urgent but will occur subsequently. Since the company already has a firm network in place, the introduction of Wi-Fi calling is another way used by the company to tell their customers that their network is still efficient and reliable.

 

 

What is Wi-Fi Calling?

 

This terminology is not rocket science. The majority is familiar with Wi-Fi and also what it entails to make a call. Wi-Fi calling uses Wi-Fi or wireless technology to provide better coverage for mobile phone users. This service is only feasible with a smart device or one that’s based on Wi-Fi technology.

 

 

 

How does Wi-Fi Calling work?

 

As mentioned above, Wi-Fi Calling only works with a compatible or Wi-Fi enabled smartphone. This smartphone when enabled is then attached to a wireless signal or Wi-Fi. If a customer has home Internet services, they can simply configure their network in such a way that they’re able to connect to it. Some phones have to use a Wi-Fi application, but others are automatic and are able to connect once they pick up a Wi-Fi signal close in proximity.

 

 

Users do not have to search long and hard to determine whether there’s a Wireless connection. Some phones give alerts when a wireless connection is available. To determine if this service really works, a customer should try making phone calls in areas where they’re not accustomed to receiving coverage.

 

 

 

 

How Wi-Fi Calling will be made possible with Verizon

 

In order for this roll out to be made possible in the next 12 months, the CFO mentioned that the Verizon Operator will have to implement some level of technological work on their network to ensure that the Wi-Fi Calling feature is available to their subscribers. The quality of a call is what Verizon Communications has built its brand on. However, the quality of their calls when passed through a wireless network, as noted by the CFO, is not something that can be guaranteed by Verizon Communications. Since quality is a major factor for Verizon and the happiness of their subscribers, the provider has taken ample time before launching the recent VoLTE service. They wanted to ensure that coverage would be adequate to reproduce the voice experience of calls when made on its 3G CDMA network. With Voice over LTE affirmed, Verizon is set on rolling out Wi-Fi Calling.

 

 

 

The roll out of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

 

With the recent release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 9, 2014, a new avenue was created that could be exploited by Verizon to create a better experience for customers who were jumping on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus chariot. Since one of the many features of the newly released iPhone 6 devices is Wi-Fi Calling, much can be done to revolutionize the way calls are made. With this enabled feature, users with the iPhone 6 and plus will be able to make calls and transmit text messages by using their home Internet network, instead of making calls the traditional way via cell towers. Wireless Calling from Verizon will be advantageous to their customers in areas where phone signals go down and coverage does not span. It’s also ideal for saving customers phone minutes which would inevitably result in a reduced monthly bill.

An apparent benefit of Wi-Fi calling is that it provides coverage in areas that are usually difficult for a Carrier’s cell towers to reach. However, wireless calling may or may not work wherever a customer is. Why? Wi-Fi Calling works over a connected Wireless network. If a customer is in a location where they can tap into Wi-Fi, it is possible for them to use their wireless calling feature. However, if they’re not in a location where Wi-Fi can be accessed, they’ll not be permitted to use the service. While this is often the case, different Operators tend to have different configurations. With the rollout of the Wi-Fi Calling service slated for next year, Verizon will ultimately determine what their configurations entail.

Once Upon A Time’s ‘White Out’: Elsa Goes Ice Cold

Once Upon a Time’s ‘White Out’ starts on an icy note. In her anger and ruthless determination to find her sister Anna, Elsa imprisoned everyone in Storybrooke. Even though this made ‘White Out’ a tad predictable, it was just enough to whet my taste buds and keep me crying for me. If you weren’t able to watch ‘White Out’ or you want to get your adrenaline up and rushing to see the re-run, here’s how ‘White Out’ left Storybrooke in darkness.

 

 

A bumpy ride down memory lane

 

In order for viewers to get the gist of present day Storybrooke and how the events correlated, we were given a one way free ride down memory lane. Most of ‘White Out’ focused on Anna, her encounters and to a lesser extent how she disappeared. Through her journey, she encountered Prince Charming, at least when he was poor and desperate and simply known as David. The perky young woman tried strenuously to give Charming a boost to stand up and fight for what was right, much of what her journey entailed. Much like the Anna we’ve seen in Frozen she’s the same, but different. The Anna we know in Frozen was keen on chasing her sister or trying to find a way to make things better for her. Anna demonstrated the same attitude in Once Upon a Time. On the other hand, the Anna in Frozen knew well to stay far away from shiny, pointy objects. However, we found the damsel wielding a sword, actually teaching Charming how to defend himself. Such satire! All is well; the Director did give her a little pep and boost to face all the ‘baddies’ in Once Upon a Time.

 

 

Emma gets friendly with Elsa

 

After discovering they were unable to leave Storybrooke, Emma met the woman behind the freezer. After a pep talk, Emma got nowhere with Elsa but found herself trapped in an icy cage. In a peculiar way, Emma’s life seems to parallel Elsa’s. Not only was Emma unable to control her magical abilities, but she didn’t have the support of her parents to do so while young. Much like Emma, Elsa knows pretty well how it feels to be neglected and utterly uncontrollable, as was the case with her magical abilities.

Elsa and Emma’s encounter could be the start of something new. We’re not sure as to what this friendship will turn out to but we do hope it’s one that’s lasting and binding, much like the friendship Elsa shares with Anna.

Elsa and Emma’s meeting also depicted hope. Emma’s nearness to death reveals that even under challenging situations you can rise to overcome the odds and fight a war that seems impossible to win. Elsa did beat the odds and save Emma, even though she was the one to put her in harm’s way.

 

 

Snow Snaps under Pressure

 

After casting a freezer over Storybrooke, conditions weren’t exactly the ‘brightest’, if you know what I mean. Elsa’s wrath was Storybrooke’s pain since the whole town was wrapped in darkness.  The mayor, Regina, decided that she no longer wanted that position since she was struggling with matters of the heart a.k.a she was wailing over being dumped by Robin. Since Snow always played the hero, the town or should I say the three most annoying citizens turned to her for answers. It’s rather ironic when a town, known for its magical and mystical creatures, complains about a little darkness. After all, they’re accustomed to what I call the dark ages. Light was definitely not something they had and even if they did, it was not enough to illuminate the entire town.

 

As usual, Snow crawls her way to justice in order to sooth the cries of the afflicted and unjustly treated. Yeah right… She did weather the storm by restoring power to Storybrooke with some weird type baby feeding thingy (don’t ask) but she also for the first time went nuts… before restoring power that is. Did I mention that she had to contend with three of the most irritating residents of Storybrooke? They literally drove her to the point of snapping and metaphorically putting a sock to their mouths. They surely got what they deserved!

Elsa is not the only walking freezer

 

After calming down, Elsa decided to remove the barrier of ice she casted on Storybrooke. Confidently hoisting her hands emitting blue icy substance to the barrier, Elsa realized that she was unable to remove the barrier. Huh? How’s that possible? Since she hoisted the ice, she should be able to take it down. However, this was not the case. Elsa confidently spoke of her unique ability to create ice and snow but her uniqueness quickly died with her inability to remove the ice barrier. Someone else was keeping that barrier up. Who could it be? Was it the dark one, Rumplestiltskin? That popped to mind but it was immediately rolled out when the Snow Queen, who operated an ice cream store revealed her ability. No wonder the power outage didn’t affect her ice cream business.

 

Obviously, this is not the end of Elsa’s quest since they still have problems to deal with. I’m highly dazed at how things turned out. When Once Upon a Time returns next week, viewers can expect a search party to find Elsa, a dog to sniff out who is keeping the ice barrier up, what will happen to Regina – whether she’d move on or continue to mope – and what will happen with Emma and Hook’s relationship.

What Revenge"s "Disclosure" Brought to TV

I’m not sure if ‘Revenge’ is something to boast about or feel overly excited to see, but like all TV shows featuring ‘relationships gone amok’, Revenge has its own twisted pleasure to deliver. I feel guilty and downright dirty. I know that Revenge teaches me to exact vengeance and to plot the downfall of those who’ve double-crossed me, but I just cannot stay away from the madness that stares through my soul every Sunday night I tune in to watch. Revenge is that good! Unless you lock me away, isolate me from every electronic device, and put my hands in cuffs, I’m hooked to Revenge. If you’ve seen the premiere of Revenge – Renaissance – you would have been prepared for what Season 4 episode 2 had to bring to the fore. Before delving into the sweet apple pie of episode 2 of Season 4, here’s a sneak peek of what episode 1 had to dish out.

 

 

Emily moves to the Presidential Suite

 

In previous episodes, I’ve always caught Emily red handed admiring Grayson’s Manor. In season 4 episode 1, it was made pretty apparent why Emily was checking out the White House; at least that’s my analysis. Viewers thought Emily was staring through Victoria’s soul when she looked intently from her Beach House, but I honestly thought she only wanted the house. That’s just my opinion guys. Finally, after Victoria and the rest of the crazy Graysons left Grayson manor, Emily Thorne moved in. How did that happen? Where did Emily get all that dough? I have no qualms that there’s just no limit to Emily’s bank account. If she’s able to hide her identity so well, she’s highly capable of concealing her investments and what her so called ‘dead’ father left behind. I’m not sure as to what Emily is up to, but I hope she’s changing her outlook on life. Once again, Emily is triumphant, but it’s pretty clear that she’s becoming like the viper, Victoria, but without a husband.

 

 

Victoria is out for good?

 

Was it really necessary to have Victoria detained in a mental institute for a mental illness that was not present? The majority thought that Emily did a good job but I have a different opinion. Emily might have felt victorious, but she only allowed Victoria time to plot against her. Now that Victoria has escaped, she’s coming for Emily with fire in her eyes… at least after she’s escaped David Clarke’s clutches who was chloroformed after threatening Emily. What is David up to? I can’t say, but I know that he’s up to no good.

 

Now that I’ve gotten the important deets out, here’s what episode 2 of season 4 brought to TV.

 

 

Victoria is reunited with her lost love

 

After a horrible dream of being strangled by the lover she betrayed, Victoria woke up only to find herself lying in the back of a van with David behind the wheels. Under heavy interrogation by David, Victoria caved in and told the truth, maybe for once. She related that she loved David, always had, but was threatened by Conrad, her deceased husband. I was pretty much anticipating a violent reunion. However, blinded by love, David expressed that he loved Victoria and embraced her with a warm hug. Pfft… David is definitely not the man I predicted him to be. If I was in his predicament, I wouldn’t have made her pay. Down with love! After all, that’s what got David into trouble which made him into a sore loser.

Pretty much, I’m of the impression that family is the only thing Emily cares about, which is good. After unleashing hell on her father’s betrayers, Emily, Amanda or whatever she’s called, reached out to her addicted sister, Charlotte. By dropping the bombshell, Emily revealed to Charlotte that they’re both related, they’re sisters. After going cuckoo, reality finally rushed in and Charlotte settles down and decided to hear Emily out. Quite the family reunion. However, things didn’t turn out as Emily anticipated. Charlotte, who’s young and stupid, storms out on Emily who tried to help.

 

While Emily is trying to work out salvation with her sister, Victoria and David catches up. The tables have finally turned and for the worst. Victoria now has a deadly weapon at her fingertips, one who’s willing to shoot with the whisper of the word.

 

 

A Family of Vipers

 

While Emily is no saint, she does have a big heart, especially towards her sister. However, as with all the Graysons, something learnt from Victoria, Charlotte has betrayed Emily and her trust. After storming out on Emily, Charlotte decided to invite her over. I thought she had an epiphany and had decided to let Emily help, but she obviously had something else in mind. Charlotte, after handing Emily a letter to read, smacked her in the head leaving her unconscious. As if that wasn’t despicable enough, Charlotte lit the building on fire, leaving Emily to burn. When asked if anyone else was inside, Charlotte confidently said no. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

 

As I wait with bated breath, I refuse to look at any sneak peeks of what is to come. I’m quite relaxed and composed, waiting to see what will befall Emily and more extensively, when Emily does survive, what wrath she’ll inflict on Charlotte. Until episode 3 of Season 4, see you soon.

 

 

 

What Revenge"s "Disclosure" Brought to TV

Transformers: Age of Extinction makes way for a sequel?

It’s just amazing how something that was once spoken of so positively can turn in something atrocious. Frantically, I do recall the uproar that was made about Transformers: Age of Extinction at that time. With the introduction of a new kind of Transformer – the Dinobots – and more refined Decepticons revealed, many Transformers fanatics were expecting a Xiaolin Showdown… and that’s exactly what most viewers got – a kick to the face.

 

 

Critics referred to the movie in distasteful terms. One critic labeled the Transformers: Age of Extinction as “inflated, interminable and incoherent” and another called it “the worst entry yet”. Needless to say, what a mess Michael Bay created. I won’t even delve into the installment. It’s too much to re-live.

 

 

After the madness comes another…?

 

Word on the street is, Transformers will see a sequel. Bay is pulling out the big guns and he’s making it rain metals once again. The upcoming sequel is being called Transformers 5. After throwing the worst at us, Michael Bay has deemed it fit to send us a little treat for his mess up. Or will the impending installment ‘give our hearts a break’, literally? While it cannot be predicted as to whether this installment will be metal garbage or just a waste of screen time, here’s what’s expected to emerge in the upcoming sequel.

 

 

 

A longer movie, triple the explosions and violence

 

If Bay returns as Director of Transformers 5, viewers are assured of three things – a long runtime, triple the explosions, and violence. Bay has a long history gliding with movies spanning no less than two hours. With the first Transformers installment, Transformers, with a runtime of over 2 hours and the latest installment, Transformers: Age of Extinction, with runtime of 2 hours and 45 minutes, Bay is sure to continue on that path. Apparently, the more installments added to the Transformers franchise, the more Bay ups the run-time. If that’s the case, Transformers 5 might run for over 3 hours.

 

Bay is also known for his explosions and violent movies. We’ve seen that from him in multiple films directed by him. These include, but are not restricted to his 2014 film, Project Almanac, the Purge, and each installment of the Transformers franchise. Whatever the reason is, Bay seems hooked on featuring violence and mayhem on screen. Such is his passion and he’s bent on bringing back the chaos with the succeeding Transformers franchise.

 

 

Bay frolics with new transformers in Transformers 5?

 

There’s nothing Bay has brought to the table that we’ve not already seen. In the previous Transformers franchise, Bay treated us to some new Autobots, newly enhanced Deceptions (all credits go to the humans) and the prehistoric Dinobots with the ability to transform into various Dinosaurs. Since Bay has a ‘thing’ for new stuff, what new and refined transformers can we look forward to? Rumor has it that Galvatron (a.k.a Megatron) will return with his flock of loyal followers to finish what he started. Obviously, this guy doesn’t die easily. To fight in the beastly war and metallic collision that’s set to take place, the Autobots will need skilled marksmen and some bigger guns to take down Galvatron and his Decepticon crew.

If that’s what Bay has in mind, speculations show that the Maximals and Predacons will emerge. The Maximals, an elite group of the Autobots, will help to fight against the Predacons, a loyal creed of the Decepticons.  The protagonist Maximals will assume an odd form. If you love flying creatures, animals and creepy crawlers, you’ll be impressed with these babies. Maximals will assume the form of animals including cheetahs, rats, rhinoceros, eagles etc. To appropriately display or reveal the ingrained nature of the Predacons, they’ll be featured as poisonous creatures such as the tarantula, black widow, cobra and wasp. These creatures all depict the cunning, sly and disloyal demeanor of the Predacons.

 

Viewers will also see a beastly version of the Autobots. The Optimus Prime we’ve come to love might no longer transform into an automobile but Optimus Primal and the sassy Bumblebee will become Cheetor. On the other side of the fence, Blackout will be Tarantulus and StarScream will become Terrasaur.

 

 

Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox to return in Age of Extinction: Transformers sequel?

 

The stars we’ve seen in prequels of Transformers: Age of Extinction might appear as a crossover in the subsequent installment to come. In a report, it was suggested that Megan Fox would return on board if Shia LeBeouf was game and as long as everyone was seeing eye to eye. It would be expected that the lives of the new cast would collide or at least intertwine with LeBeouf and Fox.

Whether LeBeouf and Fox return to the franchise or not, the new installment will hit the scenes. With the sequel set for 2016 (specifics remain unknown), Bay is expected to bring his ‘A’ game. While Transformers: Age of Extinction slayed the box office, but did terribly where reviews were concerned, viewers are expecting a change and of course, less metallic garbage.

Revenge Season 4: Will the Hunted become the Hunter?

“If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?” Those were the questions voiced by the late English poet, playwright and actor, William Shakespeare. There’s much truth to the aforementioned quote. In an attempt to reap justice, many take legal matters in their own hands and execute what is commonly termed ‘vigilante justice’. This was the case in the TV show Revenge, where Amanda Clarke, at a young age, watched officers snatch her away from her father, David Clarke, while he remained in cuffs. After learning the truth in her adolescent years, Amanda masked as Emily Thorne, decided to avenge her father.

 

With the well anticipated premiere of Season 4, it’s best to delve a little into what led up to the events that are about to unfold when the season premieres.

 

 

A Look Back at the Execution: Season 3 Finale

 

I think it’s safe to say that all hell broke loose in the Execution. It actually did after Jack (who found out that Amanda was Emily) gave her an ultimatum at the start of season 3 to clean up her mess and end it, once and for all. With that ultimatum in mind, Emily maneuvered her plans to give Victoria the show of her life on August 8 (88), which would remarkably equate with her ‘double infinity tattoo’. In the finale of the series, Victoria was made aware that Emily was Amanda Clarke. Tired of Victoria’s madness and mayhem, Emily finally got the opportunity she wanted, to shut Victoria up, so she smacked her on the head with a shovel. Thereafter, finding out that Emily had her placed in a nut house made her even nuttier.

 

 

The demise of Conrad Grayson.

 

After being imprisoned, David, Emily’s or should I say Amber’s father, tipped off a security guard and had him help Conrad escape. It’s not a shocker that Conrad escaped, but I thought that bringing David back was a terrible mistake. The reality is, he should have stayed dead. That would make things more seamless but that’s not what the producers wanted. In an attempt to retain the series, drastic actions needed to be taken and that’s exactly what the producers took in bringing David back. David’s return would simply mean that Emily would be causing misery for simply nothing, because her father was not murdered.

 

As it turned out, the guy was on vacation. Well, cutting straight to the point, David actually released Conrad Grayson just to have the dastard killed. At the outset, David seemed like an angel and a harmless fly. However, being away has definitely hardened him and made him what he is today. Being separated from her dad for quite some time, it’s quite possible that Emily will feel estranged from her father, especially gaining knowledge of Conrad’s death at his hands. Additionally, Emily has changed. She’s not the little girl David is accustomed to gallivant about with on his shoulders. Emily’s now a woman, a bitter woman, and one with a sweet tooth for revenge.

 

 

Sweet Revenge … at least for a time

 

Did Emily exact revenge? Oh, yes she did. She got her revenge to the highest extreme. Not only did she ruin those who ruined her father, but she was also able to destroy Victoria, who was at the fore of sending her father away. Emily was able to rid Victoria of her family – the death of her husband and the devastation of her son and daughter. Everything that befell Victoria was neatly prepared and cooked by Emily, at least for the most part. Emily got her revenge and it was the sweetest meal she’s ever had. After her revenge and seeming victory, what next?

 

 

When does Season 4 return?

 

With excitement in the air, ABC is bringing back the series where everything intensifies. Emily and Victoria will be at each other’s throat when Season 4 premieres Sunday September 28 10|9c.

The Tables have Turned

 

“While seeking revenge, dig two graves – one for yourself”. That quote was by author Douglas Horton rings quite true. While Emily had the upper hand from season 1 to season 3, the tables have finally turned. Victoria, who was the hunted throughout all 3 seasons, will now become the hunter. This is quite ironic since most viewers did not anticipate that the series would have leveled up to this. In fact, based on the storyline, it was not anticipated that the series would have come this far. However, the producers surely know how to create a twist and ‘spin the wheels’, so to speak. With a not so new hunter in town, Victoria will surely unleash what Emily has been dishing out to her throughout the seasons.

 

 

As for Emily, things definitely won’t be easy, considering the mere fact that Victoria isn’t the only enemy she’s made. Watch out Emily; here comes the big bad wolf.

In a recent deal, Verizon Communications Inc. teamed up with a consumer electronics company, BlackBerry Limited, in what is seen as an effort to retain and attract enterprise business users to the BlackBerry brand.  In its effort to expand its brand and attract customers and sales, Verizon is now boasting the stunning and newly unveiled iPhone 6 to wield in subscribers to their network. While the iPhone 6 won’t be available on sale until September 19, 2014, Verizon is already using bait that is sure to lure many customers in and for free.

Arrow Season 3 Premiere: What to Expect

It was already established that Season 3 of Arrow would return with a bang. This is not up for discussion since that’s what viewers experienced with the finale of Season 2, “Unthinkable”. We’re already cognizant that Arrow will introduce a new villain, one that’s highly feared by many.  While we can anticipate a new super villain and probably who’s cast to play that role, there are other things that we don’t know about the return of the series.  If you’ve not been following the series as I have, here’s what I was able to gather.

 

 

The Foundation of a Hot, New Steamy Romance

 

We’ve all seen how Felicity looked at Oliver in previous episodes, ever since she started working for the drop-dead hunk of a guy. That’s not rocket science. Many were a little skeptical about their relationship; some wanted it to work out while others didn’t.  Oliver didn’t strike us as the type who’d fall for a tech wiz and definitely not a goodie two-shoe. Have you seen the women Oliver’s dated? I’ve always had hopes for Felicity and Oliver even though her future seemed pretty dark. In the finale of season 2 we’ve seen Oliver express his love for Felicity, even though most of us thought it was a prank to get Slade, aka Deathstroke, to fall right into his traps.

Eventually, Oliver man’s up and for those who have seen the new 90-second promo of Season 3, they’ll see Oliver stepping out of his shell. Oliver actually asked Felicity to go out with him while in the middle of a pretty sticky situation. “Do you like Italian?” asks the vigilante as he paces down a street on his sweet ride. “Oliver you’re in the middle of a high-speed chase”, exclaims Felicity who seems pretty shocked at the idea of THE Oliver asking her out. In an attempt to show his humor, which we’ll mostly be seeing when the season premieres, Oliver claims that he’s “multitasking”.

 

While romance between Oliver and Felicity will get steamy and intense, this will not conceal or dominate the entire season. The executive producer, Greg Berlanti, has been working on Felicity and Oliver’s relationship ever since the beauty appeared in the series, so they well know how to fit a romance in without letting it get in the way. This is really a happy time in Oliver’s life since he’s no longer hunted by Deathstroke and those ‘bad guys’ who aren’t detained are actually too afraid to face the gang. Viewers will see a sweeter side to Oliver, maybe the kind of guy who gives piggy back rides and throws rose petals for a girl to walk on. Ollie will enjoy love and happiness until…

Many viewers thought that Liam Neeson would be cast to play the demon. However, according to Zap2It, “Riddick’s” Matt Nable has been added to the TV show. Sorry Neeson, but a bigger wolf is in town.

 

 

Arrow gets New Everything…Some Things?

 

Undoubtedly, the superhero vigilante we’re accustomed to in previous series will change immensely. Not only will he get a new girl, but we’ll see Oliver with other ‘new’ stuff. We all know what Oliver’s relationship was with Roy, Thea’s boyfriend, in previous seasons. In the upcoming season, there’ll be a twist in their relationship. In fact, they’ll actually bond as brothers. This is the love and compassion many of us were longing to see. It’s just too bad since Thea, Oliver’s sister, won’t be around to see Oliver treating his boyfriend (or ex) like a brother.

There’ll also be changes made to the costumes when the season returns. Oliver was hot in previous seasons, but wait until you see the stunner when the series returns. You can put your money on the table because his costume upgrade will have the ladies drooling. Oliver has always been somewhat of a mama’s boy. Now that Moira Queen is out of the picture and Thea is nowhere to be found, what will Oliver make of himself? Will he remain at Queen’s mansion or will he branch out and start life anew with Felicity? In a teaser with Stephen Amell, it was indicated that Oliver may get a place of his own. However, this change was not confirmed. Until this has been confirmed, we can anticipate a grown man pushing the doors of his late parents. Maybe I’ve missed an episode or two of the Arrow, but I’ve never seen Oliver use a gun. He was always a man of his ‘bow’. In the season to come, Ollie will get his hands dirty with a firearm.

 

Without a doubt, the plot of the series will see many twists and the Ollie we know will undergo many changes. Finally, he’s becoming a man, one who does not act on instinct but on reasons. While Ollie will change for the best, we can expect several or at least one thing to remain the same. Viewers will still have the privilege to hear the superhero vigilante vocalize, “You have failed this city.”

 

 

 

 

Arrow Season 3 Premiere: What to Expect

New Smartphone and Gadgets Revealed at Tech Show

Annually, companies gather at a particular location to exhibit new product launches. These launches include everything, ranging from smartphones to TVs. The Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) is the location giants prepare to battle and showcase their exhibitions, whether large or small. After these innovations are unveiled, they’re laid bare for examination. The trade show went on from Sept. 5 to Sept. 10, 2014 in Berlin. Among the giants in attendance at the trade show were Acer, Samsung, Asus, Sony, Motorola and others who unwrapped neatly presented gadgets for the world to see.

 

 

Acer

 

Acer unveiled four convertible devices at the IFA boasting the sophisticated Windows 8.1 operating system- the Aspire Switch 10, Aspire Switch 11, Acer Aspire R13, and Aspire R14. These notebooks were announced as being strong and flexible gadgets since they have the ability to transpose its screen and detach its keyboard. This means that the convertible notebooks could be used as a tablet on the go but as a laptop while stationed at home.

 

Alongside the convertible devices were Acer’s unveiled triple tablets – the Acer Iconia Tab 8 W, Acer Iconia Tab 10, and Acer Iconia One 8 tablet. The Acer Iconia Tab 8 W brags the Windows 8.1 operating system. It’s slated to arrive in October with a price of around €149. This price is set far below what Microsoft Inc. is accustomed to. However, since they’re offering Windows to tablet makers for free, provided that the device is below 9in or less, the device will be distributed at that cost.

 

 

 

The Acer Iconia Tab 10 promotes a stunning 10.1-inch FHD screen for clear cut images which was designed to enhance readability when exposed to the sun. To reduce smudges and present a squeaky clean screen, the Acer Iconia Tab 10 is made from an anti-fingerprint coating technology. The Acer Iconia One 8 is a member of the Iconia One family. This tablet promotes a larger screen size of 8inch and a robust Intel enabling faster processing speed. The device is small enough to be placed comfortably in a handbag while boasting a big enough screen to provide much entertainment and seamless interaction.

 

 

Samsung

 

Samsung, another giant at the trade show, also brought their early Christmas gifts. Among the gadgets revealed was the Galaxy Note 4 which brags a 5.7” QHD Super AMOLED screen, among other specs. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, also unveiled at the expo, boasts an arched display and mimics features of the Note family, including the stylish S pen stylus. With around 160px added to the right side of the Note Edge’s display, this is a pretty sweet upgrade and probably wields the highest resolution within the smartphone industry at present. The camera spec has bedazzled many and the 2k curved screen of the Edge leaves it with a daintily curved edgy look. Treats from Samsung didn’t stop here. Several other gadgets such as a host of smart watches and a new device powered by Oculus Rift – a mobile virtual reality headset – reared their heads at the 2014 trade show in Berlin.

 

 

Asus

 

In a partnership with Google, the company was able to produce its first wearable gadget, the ZenWatch. Eric Chen, ASUS’ Corporate Vice President, announced additional gadgets including the Zenbook UX305 which is seen as the thinnest 13.3 QHD + laptop in the world. The sophisticated, firm and radiant EeeBook X205 and the MeMO Pad 7 (ME572C) which is the contemporary version of the MeMO Pad’s kindred was also unveiled at the expo.  After highlighting the aforementioned gadgets, Mr. Chen concluded by announcing the ProSieben Entertainment Pad which is the 8-inch tablet slated for roll out in Germany.

 

 

 

 

Sony

 

Sony had its fair share of announcements to make at the IFA 2014. The Sony Xperia Z3 was among one of the many gadgets unveiled officially by Sony. Many were astounded when Sony launched the Sony Xperia Z3 as its fourth smartphone in less than a year since the company has been rapidly wielding out the Xperia Z smartphone series. The latest release of the Xperia Z smartphone is more of iteration rather than innovation. This means that Sony is more concerned about developing or improving the Xperia Z line of smartphones, rather than hit the scenes with another innovation. With additional refinements made to the Xperia Z series, Sony would have created one of the meanest and leanest smartphones on the market.

 

Other unveiled gadgets by Sony included the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, the successor of the Xperia Z1 Compact, and Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact which is the ‘sized down’ successor of the Xperia Z2 Tablet.

 

 

 

Motorola

 

Hitting the scene and creating an astounding tech headline was Motorola’s unveiled devices at the trade show. Among the surprises were Motorola’s Moto G, the new Moto X and the Hint earpiece. There was also the official debuting of probably the only smart watch in the smart watch industry with a round face – the Moto 360 smart watch.

 

The unveiling of these smartphones and gadgets were really astounding. These devices will soon be made available for the public to explore and develop new and fun ways to be entertained by these unveiled techs.

Verizon Communications Inc. VoLTE Service is Finally Here

In an article dated May 20, 2014 on the official website of Verizon Communications Inc., Verizon stated their plans to roll out a new service. This anticipated service will permit customers boasting compatible devices and operating on Verizon’s network to make HD voice and video calls via the network. Dubbed as ‘VoLTE’ service, which is the abbreviated form of Voice over LTE, the service was slated to roll out in subsequent months.

 

 

What is VoLTE?

Voice over LTE is a new wireless technology that will transform the way smartphones are used to make calls. In subsequent weeks, consumers with a subscription to Verizon Communications will experience what Advanced Calling 1.0 entails. VoLTE includes integrating the wireless experience with the use of high def. voice and video calling on smartphones compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network. In order to enable voice and video call, both users – sender and receiver – have to be subscribers of Verizon and user of compatible devices.

 

The scheduled roll out of VoLTE might eradicate the use of the company’s aging CDMA service. As promised approximately two years ago, but was later postponed, the company will move toward a better service which will revolutionize the way customers make voice and video calls over the 4G LTE network.

 

 

How the Roll Out is Made Possible

 

Not all of Verizon’s 4G smartphones will be able to boast this service, but VoLTE over some devices will be feasible. Verizon has always been an avid supporter of standards-based services with a nationwide implementation that is able to operate on multiple handsets. It’s anticipated that only a few enabled VoLTE devices will be available with the launching of the Voice and Video Calling service. However, with time, more customers will be fed the service through updated VoLTE-enabled software.
