The Flash, the Reverse and the Who?

Unfortunately, Barry didn’t live up to his expectations in episode 9; ‘The Man in the Yellow Suit. He had the chance to beat the fast out of The Reverse Flash but instead got a beat down. Clearly, Barry is no match for his arch nemesis. I’d go ahead and recount the whupping he received but that would only drive a sword through my heart (again!). However, I will expand on important details from episode 9 as they reveal a great deal about what’s to come.

A split in time… what’s the crime?

DC University has a way of playing with madness (and by that I mean super humans and others). We’ve not seen ‘much’ in DC’s Arrow, but that could all change with the entwining storyline of Arrow and The Flash. Fanatics of both series found it riveting as one of those ‘do it again moments’ but DC was staging the scene for something even more mind-boggling.

As I was saying…

Episode 1.09; The Flash vs The Reverse Flash Flash tries to keep up with the Reverse Flash

The Man in the Yellow Suit featured a Metahuman from Barry’s past who’s responsible for murdering his mom. However, the introduction of the ‘man in yellow’ is pivotal at this stage since it reveals the source of Barry’s frustrations. Carlos Valdes, a.k.a Cisco, saw all that when he discerned a streak of yellow and red light emitting from Barry and The Reverse Flash’s fisticuffs. On the night Barry’s mother was killed, young Barry then related that he saw a red and yellow streak. This is a clear indication that someone else had to be there when Barry’s mother died. Now it all makes sense. Where would the red streak come from? Could it be that future Barry was present when his mother died? Did Barry go back in time to prevent a crime from being committed? Is that even possible? With DC Universe anything is. Here’s why?

DC Comic’s history of time travel

“Time travel is a vicious cycle”. Regardless, superheroes with this ability never seem to learn that lesson.  DC Comics has a history with time traveling. This was apparent in the Return of Barry Allen and The Flash Rebirth. The laws of physics dictate that you cannot change things that happened in the past. Could it be that Barry wanted to break that natural cycle? What if The Reverse Flash went back in time to kill past Barry so that The Flash wouldn’t have a future? This might sound a little confusing but if you’ve been following DC Universe it’d all seem clear. Whether Barry went back in time to save his past self or his mother was the target, DC is up to something big.

A Fireball Added to Team Flash?

Firestorm Saves Flash in Episode 1.09 Firestorm getting ready to blast the Reverse Flash

The Man in the Yellow Suit also showed us another talent. The man pronounced dead several months ago was resurrected. Ronnie, played by Robbie Amell, appeared to his girlfriend to demonstrate the ’monster’ he had become. After transforming into what seems like a ball of fire, Caitlin fled. Ronnie’s appearance at this time in the series is not strange. After all, he showed up just in time to save The Flash from another whupping.  To add to Ronnie’s ability to create and harness fire, he can also use it to fly. It sure does not get any better than this! What else can Ronnie do? Ronnie is seen as ‘half of DC Comic’s Firestorm’ who’s able to shape shift, boost his immune system along with other incredible abilities. Is Firestorm/ Ronnie the ‘Who?’ to be added to team Flash? This is highly probable but a little far-fetched since he’s a little wild. However, I’m pretty sure professor Wells will be able to tame him.

The ‘Who’ Returns to The Flash for Episode 10?

Captain Cold in Episode 1.09; The Flash Captain Cold after whupping Barry

The Flash episode 10, Revenge of the Rogues promo video reveals a familiar face. We’ve all met Captain Cold in Going Rogue. Captain Cold proved to be a formidable foe to Barry and was unchallenged and unmatched. With so many months of scheming, what can we expect from Captain Cold and his minions? He was a scoundrel in episode 4 and nothing less is expected when the season returns in January. His impact is expected to hit big with his comeback. Is Barry prepared? Will he need help? That might be the case. I believe that Barry will get help from a familiar face.

A Mere prediction: Firestorm and Captain Cold Faceoff

No, I’ve not see the return episode and I most definitely don’t have an inside source. These are all predictions of where the evidence is pointing. The promo video for Flash 1×10 shows Caitlin as Captain Cold’s hostage. As the love of Firestorm’s life, it’s highly probable that she’ll be rescued by him. This will turn out badly for Captain Cold and ultimately lead to his capture. By messing Firestorm’s lady, he’s setting himself up to get burned…and pretty badly.

Betrayal from an Insider

Flash 1×09 was a crucial episode to the series. Not only were we introduced to The Reverse Flash, but his identity was openly exposed to fans. It was rather obvious that Dr. Wells was The Reverse Flash but it was only vague as to how he appeared in two places at the same time. This takes us back to DC’s history of time travel . Could it be that The Reverse Flash traveled back in time to obtain the tachyon device? I doubt it since he has been in town for a while. Why not get what he want then leave? Whatever Dr. Wells is after, his plans seem to be coming to fruition since he’s aware of every move Barry makes. How will he be able to go up against The Reverse Flash in the ultimate battle when the time is right? I’m very skeptical but until The Flash returns, see you then…
